In this podcast we spend time with Maarten Vanneste, the originator of the concept of Meeting Architecture to discover what this science can deliver in practical terms to the event organizer.

In this our first podcast we are going to be examining the ever more influential role mobile tools and applications play in the event space. Mobile devices have become one of the most prevalent communications device for us all and play a key role in helping us to manage our everyday lives.
We examine, with the help of some key players in the events industry, how mobile devices represent a step change in the way event organizers and attendees communicate offsite/onsite and before, during and after the event. We also talk to event organizers who have been trailblazing with advanced mobile strategies and applications at their events to really get an insight into the potential benefits and pitfalls of being at the leading edge of innovation.

Maarten Vanneste
His first book, “Meeting Architecture” is a manifesto that aims at creating formal education up to a master degree in meeting architecture. The concept of meeting architecture is born in Maarten’s head in 2007 after 25 years in the industry. A meeting architect is a professional that works for meeting owners. The MA investigates the objectives of a meeting, designs it based on objectives, executes based –on the designs and assesses the result Compared to the set objectives. The book was launched in April 2008 and it’s second print almost sold out within 12 months.
As an author in many international magazines, gives concise opinions, tips and tricks and shares his knowledge. Author and co-author of two chapters in the CMP International study book. Thought provoking publications like “The power of random encounters”, “The Budgetary Balance Between Body and Brain” and “Les Lobster Leverages Learning” have reached an international audience.
